For 10 years the Nordic Cleantech Open competition has served as an observation tower for the up and coming cleantech innovation trends that will support the transition to a low carbon reality. The exclusive platform of Nordic cleantech companies offers a unique opportunity for a well-established international network of investors, industrials, real estate companies, cities, service providers and the public sector in form of cleantech-related innovation scouting, impact assessments, collaboration projects, investment opportunities and statistics, as well as business intelligence in the Nordics.
The 10th Edition of the Nordic Cleantech Open received 139 applications from all corners of the Nordics and the Baltics, and now the Top 25 most innovative, promising and ready-to-scale companies have been selected and are now announced.
With a very market-oriented proposition, the jury consists of about 50 international members from venture capital firms, multinational industries, the utility sector, development agencies and the public investment scene. They were the ones to analyze the 139 applications based on their level of innovation, market potential and the ability of the team to execute.
The selected 25 companies that will participate in the next phases use digitalization and AI to solve some of the cleantech sectorās biggest challenges notably in the fields of transportation, energy and water purification. They also bring several innovations to the battery market, ground-breaking technologies to support the hydrogen economy, and ever more ingenious waste-to-value circular solutions.
What's next?
Next, the Top 25 companies will meet the jury at Smygehus Havsbad, Southern Sweden, on the 22nd and 23rd of September, where they will get to pitch and present their case and participate in one-to-one meetings, among other more recreational and mingling activities. On the same occasion, the jury will assess the startups again, and the selected Top 10 will then move on to the finals together with Cleantech Scandinaviaās main event: Cleantech Capital Day and the Nordic Cleantech Open Finals, on the 16th and 17th of November, in Malmƶ.
